The history of the doll can be dated back to the beginning of man. As traditional children’s toys the doll has be constructed out of many materials both hard and soft. Originally, dolls were made from rock, mud, clay, wood, or bone. But in modern day society dolls are usually constructed from plastic, rubber, cloth, paper, porcelain, or a combination of materials.

A doll is often a cherished possession. Dolls are usually made to resemble a girl or boy. But some dolls are made to be a fairy, angel or human-like animal. One popular example of an animal doll that is given human-like characteristics is the teddy bear. Teddy bears often have clothes and even hair.

The most realistic looking dolls are often the most popular. There are dolls that depict babies, children, adults, and animals – which can all be realistic-looking. There are even baby dolls that eat, sleep, and talk.

Some of the most realistic looking dolls are made of plastic or vinyl. Plastic dolls started to be produced after the Second World War and vinyl shortly followed. Many dolls today are made of vinyl because it is a durable type of doll and hair can be rooted to the dolls head.

But not all dolls are commercially made. In fact, some of the best dolls are handmade. Handmade dolls are often constructed of high quality clothes and fabrics. One of the most popular types of handmade dolls is the rag doll.

With all of the many types of dolls that have been made and continued to be made, there are many collectibles available. Some of the most popular collectible dolls are antique or vintage dolls. However, many collectors enjoy gathering porcelain and china dolls as well.

Some collectors even collect paper dolls, but these dolls are often underappreciated. Many people do not understand their rich history and modern day worth. Paper dolls can be dated back to France in the 18th century and moved to other areas of the world. For many years paper dolls were hand painted versions of popular actors or actresses from different parts of the world. From their beginnings in Paris, paper dolls were accurate reflections of the cultures in which they were created in.
